While Tokyo and Kyoto often steal the spotlight, Japan's countryside offers breathtaking landscapes and authentic cultural experiences that many travelers miss. From the rolling hills of Hokkaido to the tropical beaches of Okinawa, there's so much to discover beyond the major cities.

During my recent three-week journey through rural Japan, I discovered charming villages, stayed at traditional ryokans, and connected with locals who shared stories passed down through generations. The hospitality I encountered was unmatched, making every stop along the way memorable.
